Documentary BTS Competing at the 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards
Stagehousemusic.com, -Boyband BTS was included in the nominations for the MTV Movie & TV Awards 2021. In this event, BTS was included in the category of best music documentary film through their documentary entitled Break The Silence.
Break the Silence: The Movie features behind-the-scenes stories as BTS embark on their Love Yourself: Speak Yourself world tour. The tour was held in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, São Paulo, London, Paris, Osaka, Shizuoka, Riyadh and Seoul.
On the tour, BTS also made history as the first Korean group to appear at Wembley Stadium. The fourth BTS film was directed by Park Jun-soo and was released for the first time in September 2020.
Break The Silence is the fourth film released by BTS after their first documentary, Burn the Stage: The Movie (2018), Love Yourself in Seoul and Bring the Soul: The Movie (2019).
Break the Silence: The Movie will compete with other nominees including Ariana Grande (Excuse Me, I Love You), Biggie (I Got a Story to Tell), Billie Eilish (The World’s a Little Blurry), Demi Lovato (Dancing With the Devil) ), Shawn Mendes (In Wonder), Taylor Swift (Miss Americana), The Bee Gees (How Can You Mend a Broken Heart), The New York Times Presents (Framing Britney Spears) and Tina.
The winners for this category will be announced at the event on the second day which takes place on Monday, May 17 at Palladium, Los Angeles, United States at 21:00 local time. Meanwhile, comedian Nikki Glaser will host the event.
Apart from the event, BTS was also nominated for four at the Billboard Music Awards 2021. In this event, BTS competed in the Top Duo / Group category. This is the third nomination for BTS in the event.
Furthermore, BTS is also included in the Top Social Artist category which they have won for four consecutive years. In addition, BTS also won nominations for the Top Song Sales Artist award and the Top Selling Song (Dynamite) award.
The winner announcement for the 2021 Billboard Music Awards will be broadcast live on May 23 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
