On May 31, 2017 tomorrow, a documentary film called Turn it Around: The Story of East Bay Punk is produced by Green Day. This film tells the story of the journey of punk bands from the San Francisco scene which up to now is influential.

The film, directed by Corbett Redford, explores the punk scene born in California-San Francisco. From this scene since the 1970s, there have been many punk bands that until now are legendary: Green Day and Rancid, for example.

During story and data browsing, the production team until interviewing 150 speakers and collecting footage documentation for up to 500 hours. Some of the speakers who will appear in the film are Kirk Hammet from Metallica, Jello Biafra from Dead Kennedy, and each Rancid personnel.

The production of this film begins when Billie Joe Armstrong is looking for Green Day footage. Corbett, who often documented Green Day’s actions, provided some of the footage he had. At that time, Billie Joe even asked Corbett to all direct this documentary film.

The 98-minute feature film, filled with Iggy Pop, will invite you to see the exciting story of the 1970s-90s American punk scene.
